Dr. Mark T. Vardy  |  Owner, DC – CCSP, CF-L1

markDr. Vardy is a certified chiropractic sports physician with a passion for fitness and maximizing human potential. He has a Bachelor of Science honors degree in biochemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College. While at Palmer he played college rugby and competed across the US on Team Radical Adventure Racing. Dr. Vardy has been involved in sports chiropractic for 15 years and has been the official chiropractor for the Carolina Mudcats and their affiliate teams. He has been part of the sports medical teams for the Special Olympics and the Ironman triathlon in Kona, Hawaii.In addition to caring for patients and athletes, Dr. Vardy has a special interest in youth athletics and the development of young athletes. He has coached and performed youth athletic conditioning and educational programs for Raleigh Youth Hockey, Wendell Parks and Recreation, KVP Softball, East Coast Eagles, Colin Muldoon Training, Hockey Ministries International, and the local Carolina Hurricanes.He currently serves on the advisory board for the Town of Knightdale Parks and Recreation and the Board of Directors for the Wendell Fire Department. Dr. Vardy enjoys participating in recreational activities such as ice hockey, adventure racing, mud runs, surfing, and local 5Ks and spends much of his free time with his wife and his three kids and their sporting events.

Personal Goal(s):  To be as fit and healthy as possible at whatever age!

Casey Johns  |  Sports Performance Coach, Manager, CSCS

Casey is a recent graduate of East Carolina University where he obtained his B.S. in Kinesiology. He attended high school in Stafford, Virginia, and competed in football, basketball, and baseball. Excelling in baseball, Casey continued his playing career at Gardner-Webb University, Lenoir Community College, and finally ECU. While at ECU, he utilized his passion for sport performance and injury prevention/rehabilitation at a sport and physical therapy clinic there in Greenville. Casey intends to pursue his doctorate in physical therapy where he would like to specialize in sports related injuries and continue with sport performance training.He is currently a CSCS and determined to continue his education through several other certifications, to serve as a better coach and educator. In his spare time, Casey enjoys participating in anything outdoors, from hunting and fishing to biking and hiking.

Daniel Montero  |  CrossFit Coach, CF-L1

My life has revolved around soccer from the age of 4. I was a two-time MVP state champion in high school and two-time MVP for the final championship with Cardinal Gibbons High School. I was also all conference, region and state for NCHSA in 2008. I played a year at St. Andrews University, where I earned 3rd team all conference. I then attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. I found the sport of Crossfit in my last year of college when I was going through a tough time.  It has formed me into who I am now and changed my life for the better.  I was able to understand the movement patterns and quickly got stronger.  With the new knowledge that I was learning, I soon realized I wanted to teach people the sport I now love. I really just want to help other who have the same interest, to further their goals into something they never thought they can do.  My favorite thing to teach is the olympic movements because it is the most technical movement and it is something I have come a long way to get where I am now. I have attended James Tatum Seminar, Training Think Tank Seminar, along with my Level 1.Favorite Lift: Snatch and Clean

Hailey Stewart  |  CrossFit Coach, CF-L1

Hailey is a passionate CrossFit Coach and yoga instructor, specializing in yoga and mobility for athletes. She first found her love of fitness in a hot yoga studio, and then started to dabble in CrossFit. After going through a hard time personally, she found that CrossFit was an outlet like no other – somewhere she felt strong and brave. Watching the positive effects it had on all aspects of her life, Hailey knew her purpose was to share her understanding of fitness and health with others so that they too could be empowered. Since she was young, Hailey has always stayed active outdoors and competed in horseback riding events for 8 years. When she’s not training, you can find her trail running, slacklining, biking, or maybe climbing a tree somewhere. Hailey is hugely drawn to CrossFit’s way of making you better at everyday things, and loves seeing it translate into her hobbies.Favorite Lift: Back Squat

Adam Beck  |  CrossFit Coach, CF-L1

Dr. Beck was born and raised in upstate New York where he graduated top of his class, was a member of National Honor Society, and captain of the football, basketball and baseball teams. Upon graduating, Dr. Beck attended SUNY Brockport, pursuing a degree in Athletic training and playing baseball. As an athletic training intern, Dr. Beck spent three years working with the college’s athletic teams focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sideline first aid. Dr. Beck had a unique experience with chiropractic care as a child, which drove him to forgo a career as an athletic trainer and enroll in chiropractic school. Suffering from severe asthma since his birth, he had tried the conventional approach to the illness but still found himself in the hospital multiple times throughout his childhood. At the age of 8, he began chiropractic care along with dietary changes. Gradually, over two years, his condition improved to the point where he was off all medications and had not stepped foot in a hospital. To this day, he has not had any symptoms of asthma, to which he owes everything to chiropractic.
