Meet Vardy HPC Intern: Haley Glover
My name is Haley Glover and I am currently a senior at East Wake High School. I was born and raised in Wendell, NC where I live with my parents and sister. My sister grew up playing softball and went on to play for two years at Pitt Community College in Greenville, NC.
Growing up I played a multitude of sports, but at the high school level I have played volleyball and softball. I have played both travel volleyball and softball, but decided to put a greater focus on softball. I have been playing travel softball since I was 10 and continue to play it at the elite level. I will be continuing my softball career at Appalachian State University, in Boone, NC come the fall of 2016. I plan to study exercise science and become a physical therapist.
In addition to the 8+ years of practicing/playing competitive softball, I have spent the last 5+ years catching pitchers of all ages under the guidance of Kim Vardy of KVP Pitching, allowing me to fine tune my skills and advance my game on the field. I also assist in teaching young athletes the fundamentals of fielding, pitching, and hitting. This has given me the opportunity to spread my knowledge to the younger generation, as well as help me have a better understanding of the game.
I began working out with Vardy HPC when I was 14. Since then I have received many hours of training and instruction. In the past year and a half I have seen a significantly positive shift in my playing. I have spent many years trying to excel and perfect my game so that I will be able to compete at the most competitive level and with the help of Vardy HPC I am getting closer to achieving this.
I am happy to have an internship working with the staff and doctors at Vardy HPC. I know that this experience will give me the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge towards my future career.
