Dr. Mark Vardy
Dr. Mark Vardy is a distinguished and passionate fitness coach who has dedicated his career to empowering individuals to achieve their optimal health and wellness goals. With 24 years working with athletes and the general public as a sports chiropractor, Dr. Vardy’s background in physiology and a deep understanding of human kinetics brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and practical experience to his coaching approach.
With a firm belief that fitness is not just a physical endeavor but a holistic lifestyle, Dr. Vardy takes a comprehensive approach to coaching. His sports and activity background includes sports such as hockey, rugby, soccer, windsurfing, surfing, mountain biking and kite boarding. He is a North Carolina licensed Chiropractic Physician, a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, a Level 2 CrossFit instructor, USAW L1 and USA Hockey Coach Level 3. This integrative skill set allows for an approach that reflects his commitment to helping clients cultivate lasting habits that lead to maximized and sustainable results.

My name is Tracy Dunn, I am a CrossFit and Functional Fitness coach here at CrossFit HPC. I have been doing CrossFit for over 10 years. I love helping athletes get better at their sport by improving general strength and increasing athletic ability whether that be in CrossFit or in sport specific training. I have a long background of Olympic lifting and perfecting form on these lifts. My passions are living a happy and healthy lifestyle and the most efficient way to achieve this overall state of wellbeing. I believe that fitness and nutritional support are one the best ways to improve the overall quality of one’s life. I have a strong understanding of the different methodologies on improving diet, fitness, and overall well being. My name is Lem Vardy, I am a coach here at CrossFit HPC, I have my Crossft Level 1 certification as well certified sports nutritionist. I play hockey in the North American Hockey league in Odessa TX. I have been doing CrossFit for 12 years, I have worked with all levels of athletes. I specialize with hockey players. In my free time I like to go hunting. I have a duck dog named Maverick, and I like to compete in CrossFit competitions. I like working with athletes that have focus and drive to get better and obtain their desired results. I am a firm believer in the fact that being a great athlete takes more than just a good gym routine and I love helping people identify those outside factors that can help them improve not only their fitness but their everyday life!

My name is Kristie Johnson. I am a certified personal trainer, level one weightlifting coach and competitive elite powerlifter. I have a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I grew up in the Wendell area, moved to Wilmington for College and stayed there for 13 years before moving back to Zebulon in 2020. I am deeply passionate about my strength training and specialize in strength and power development. I also enjoy CrossFit and competing in mountain bike races because I believe it is important to be a well rounded athlete and I love challenging myself. During the day I work as a rehab specialist at Vardy HPC so I am very familiar with working with common everyday and sports related injuries. I believe that having a strong, functional and mobile body is very important to living a happy and healthy life.
What’s up everybody! My name is Mana Gould and I am a Personal Trainer here at CrossFit HPC. I am a licensed athletic trainer, Certified athletic trainer, and I am the Athletic trainer at Wilson Fike High School where I focus on helping athletes get back from injuries as well as injury prevention! I focus on body recomposition which is losing body fat and gaining muscle! I believe in a healthy diet, as well as a strong work ethic to accomplish our goals. I am big on family and making sure that everyone around me feels like they belong! I am a high energy guy that likes to inspire those around me to work as hard as possible. Outside of the gym I love spending time with my wife Brittany and my dog Drogo. Family is essentially everything to me and would love to have you become part of my fitness family.
My name is Matt Kelley and I am a personal trainer, sport performance coach and CrossFit coach. I specialize in sport specific training and body recomposition which focuses on losing weight and gaining muscle! I have worked with athletes from all different types of teams and sports. I have my Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sport Science, as well as my CrossFit Level-1 certification. I was a college baseball player for the past three years at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke as well as a strength and conditioning intern for UNCP. During these days I am a rehab specialist and a strength coach at CrossFit HPC. Helping people accomplish their fitness goals as well as getting back to feeling healthy are my two biggest passions. With our training regimes I believe that we can improve performance, quality of life, as well as confidence! During my free time I enjoy golfing and building my physique for future bodybuilding competitions!
Hey Everybody! My name is Coach Kate Grice, and I am a Functional Fitness coach and private pitching instructor here at CrossFit HPC. I love working with all different kinds of athletes with the main goal of improving the overall quality of life by making movement and everyday functions better. I love explaining to athletes how to make lifestyle adjustments in order to better themselves and live a happier, healthier life. When working with me in Functional Fitness I love learning about you as a whole person, from who you are, what your goals are, and what you aspire to become in life. In my freetime you can find me taking care of my 5 month old Levi! He is my biggest joy in life and nothing makes me smile more than being a Mom. Family will always be a priority to me and while working with me in Functional Fitness you will become part of my family.
Justin Quintavalle is a Sport Performance coach, Personal Trainer, and Rehab Specialist at CrossFit HPC. After graduating from North Carolina State University, Justin pursued his NASM certified personal training certification. With future plans of pursuing a masters in exercises science and obtaining his certified strength and conditioning specialist certification. In his free time he enjoys boxing and plans to compete in a few USA boxing tournaments, as well as hiking and wakeboarding. With a passion for getting people to improve their quality of life through fitness, Justin is a great coach that is able to understand his athletes needs and how to meet those needs.
